That is what I found myself wondering in a hotel room in Helsinki, tired of too many projects, too many people, too many thoughts. On the edge of the bathtub stood a yellow rubber duck. Casually. And somehow exactly on time.

That duck could really only do one thing. Float. Nothing more. She wasn't trying to get anywhere. She wasn't trying to become a better duck either.
She floated.
And apparently, that was enough.
After that, ducks started showing up everywhere. The 28,000-plus rubber ducks that fell off a container ship and floated across the ocean for years. Programmers who explain broken code out loud to a plastic duck and suddenly see their own mistake. Shingebis, the duck who didn't chase winter away, but simply kept singing.
The more stories I found, the less coincidental that little duck in Helsinki began to feel. And slowly, something started to dawn on me:
Life is not a problem that wants to be solved. It is an ocean you learn to navigate.
Duck It! is the story of that search. About why we try so hard to understand, control and improve life - and what can happen when we stop doing that, just for a moment.
Maybe you don't have to try harder. Maybe you just have to look differently.
It is not about getting more energy.
It is about losing less.
